Orquideas

This painting was really difficult , I had to change the woman´s face was many times before being pleased with it. The concept shifted along with the changes of the facial expression and the feelings I wanted to convey. I also tried to be to be more spontaneous with the brushstrokes and the color combination . By the way, the red - in one of the hands- is a little more subtle and really pasty in reality.

This was a portrait for a comission. Since I had photographic reference, I tried
to be more adventurous with the colouring, adding also the flowers and the palette.
It was also my first time using a canvas! A welcoming change =)
